A 600-pound rating is not permission to put any 600-pound object anywhere on a table. The stated capacity applies under the manufacturer’s conditions, and those conditions are often more important than the headline number.
Before buying for heavy work, establish whether the rating is static, how the load must be distributed, and which table configuration it covers. Leave unresolved conditions as questions for the supplier rather than filling them with assumptions.
Separate the kinds of rating
A static rating concerns a stationary supported load. A rolling arrangement introduces a different duty. Likewise, an evenly distributed load is not the same loading case as a small heavy object bearing at one point.
The Klutch 61158 manual limits the table to 600 pounds, calls for a hard level surface and secure assembly, and warns that dynamic loads can exceed the rating. That warning matters when lowering work onto the surface: a weight within the nominal capacity is not authorization to drop it.

Count the whole supported setup
Include clamps, fixtures, a vise and any equipment carried by the table, using the maker’s definition of payload. A heavy fixture can consume useful capacity before the workpiece arrives. Shelf limits may be separate from top limits, so do not assume a shelf can carry the table’s full advertised rating.
For example, a hypothetical 180-pound assembly plus 40 pounds of fixtures makes a 220-pound payload to discuss with the supplier. That addition is only an inventory of weight. It does not establish that the footprint, overhang or loading procedure is acceptable.
Overhang introduces a different problem
A long frame extending beyond the top can shift where the load acts and may need independent support. A vice on an edge or a clamped lever adds forces not described by a simple workpiece weight.
Provide the supplier with a sketch showing the work’s contact points, height and overhang. If you need to bend, press or straighten a part, use equipment approved for that operation. Do not calculate a safe overhang from the table’s capacity number alone.
Changing the base changes the question
Replacement casters, longer legs and additional shelves alter the assembly you originally bought. The smallest stated component rating is not, by itself, a complete rating of the modified structure. Mounting plates, fasteners, frame strength and stability also matter.
A manufacturer-approved caster kit is easier to evaluate than a collection of independently rated wheels, but still check whether the allowable load changes between parked and rolling use. Confirm whether leveling feet must support the table during operation.
Use the manual before the first heavy job
Assemble and inspect the table as instructed. Confirm locks and fasteners, the floor condition and the handling method for placing the work. Do not stand on the top or use it as a lifting platform unless it was expressly designed for that purpose.
When the intended work is near a stated limit, or the load is concentrated or unusual, send the actual setup to the manufacturer. Selecting a larger published capacity can be sensible, but multiplying a number by an invented safety factor does not resolve an undocumented loading case.
Treat capacity as a limit on a defined configuration and loading case, not a weight target to reach.

No. That does not establish the capacity of the frame, caster mounts, hardware or complete assembly, and it ignores the caster supplier’s operating conditions.
Does the load rating include the table’s own weight?
Check the manufacturer’s definition. Table payload and the total load carried by replacement casters are different quantities; casters must also carry the structure itself.
